About the school
Our client is an established international boarding school in Lao Cai, northern Vietnam, offering an academically ambitious education to students from diverse backgrounds.
The school follows an international curriculum focused on academic achievement, personal development and preparation for university. This role focuses on International AS and A-level Further Mathematics (9665), delivering engaging, challenging lessons that develop mathematical understanding, problem-solving and rigorous reasoning.
The successful teacher will assess progress through assignments, tests and examinations, provide timely feedback, maintain accurate records, and support students through tutorials and enrichment sessions. They will also have opportunities to contribute to curriculum development, departmental planning, co-curricular activities and wider school life.
As an on-site boarding school role, teachers are expected to contribute actively to the wider community and students’ experience beyond the classroom.

About Lao Cai
Lao Cai is situated in northern Vietnam, close to the Chinese border and surrounded by impressive mountain landscapes.
The region is particularly well known for its natural beauty, traditional communities and access to some of Vietnam’s most spectacular scenery. The nearby mountain town of Sa Pa is famous for its rice terraces, hiking routes and distinctive local culture.
Lao Cai offers a more peaceful and authentic experience than Vietnam’s larger cities and is particularly suited to teachers who enjoy outdoor pursuits, travel, cultural exploration and living somewhere a little different.

Required qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics or a closely related subject.
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, Bachelor of Education or equivalent.
  • A valid teaching licence, such as QTS, PGCE with appropriate teaching status/licensure, or a recognised US teaching licence.
  • Demonstrable experience teaching AS/A-level or equivalent advanced Mathematics.
  • Experience teaching Further Mathematics or a comparable advanced Mathematics course is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with the International AS and A-level Further Mathematics (9665) syllabus and assessment requirements, or the ability to become familiar with the specification quickly.
  • Strong proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • A willingness and ability to relocate to Vietnam.
