About the institution and curriculum
Our client is a fast-growing international higher education college in Dhaka. It belongs to a well-established education group that also runs Cambridge-curriculum schools. Students study for internationally recognised degrees through partnerships with the University of London (with academic direction from the London School of Economics) and the University of Lancashire. The college also runs pathway programmes to Monash University in Australia and Malaysia.
You will help shape the next stage of the college’s Business & Marketing provision. That means university-level teaching through lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials. You will also design, assess and moderate student work to partner-university standards, and contribute to programme review and improvement. Research, consultancy and building links with employers and industry partners are part of the role too. There is a real chance to step into academic leadership: the successful candidate may take on Head of Department responsibilities, leading departmental planning and the growth of the discipline.
Who will thrive here
This role suits an academic who is credible and student-centred, and who wants to build something rather than simply keep it running. You will enjoy it if you like working across international partner frameworks and bringing real-world business practice into the classroom. It also suits someone who wants to develop as an academic leader in a dynamic, growing environment. The package is designed with families in mind, so it is an excellent option for those relocating with children.
About Dhaka
Dhaka is the vibrant, energetic capital of Bangladesh and one of South Asia’s fastest-growing cities. Its heritage stretches back centuries, from the Mughal-era Lalbagh Fort to the pink Ahsan Manzil palace on the Buriganga River. Daily life is full of colour, with busy markets, famous street food and a warm, welcoming culture. Most expatriates live in the leafy diplomatic areas of Gulshan, Banani and Baridhara, which offer international restaurants, clubs and good amenities. The cost of living is low, which helps a tax-free salary go a long way. Dhaka is also a gateway for exploring the Sundarbans mangrove forest, the tea gardens of Sylhet and the long beach at Cox’s Bazar, and has easy flight links across Asia and the Middle East.
