Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education or a relevant subject.
- A recognised teaching qualification with a valid teaching licence, such as PGCE, QTS or a US State Teaching Licence.
- A minimum of 7–10 years’ teaching experience.
- At least 3–5 years’ successful experience in an academic leadership role within a Cambridge International School.
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum and assessment framework.
Essential skills
- Proven ability to lead the academic and operational management of a Primary School.
- Experience implementing and monitoring the Cambridge Primary Curriculum.
- Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills.
- Ability to mentor, develop and evaluate teaching staff through effective performance management and classroom observations.
- Excellent curriculum planning, assessment and data analysis skills.
- Outstanding communication, organisational and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience building positive relationships with parents and the wider school community.
- Commitment to promoting student wellbeing and delivering a holistic educational experience.
- Passion for innovation, continuous improvement and student-centred learning.
Safeguarding skills and qualities required for international teachers
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. They will understand the importance of creating a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment, maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, and be able to identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns. Excellent judgement, integrity, professionalism and an understanding of appropriate professional boundaries are essential.
